Social Committee

helps ministry

The aim of the social committee is to offer, organise and deliver activities that will aid to unite the members of Shiloh Worship Centre. Neighbouring churches are also invited to participate.

These activities assist both those with or without children to come together and enjoy in the fun. It also gives those on their own the opportunity to be among like minded people and those that are new to the church a chance to fit in and get to know others. It includes all ages and needs, from seniors to the toddlers. Presently, the team consists of eight individuals who share their knowledge and skills. They are different in age and ability, but share one commonality; they want to do their best for God, therefore promoting unity. This spirit enriches our activities.

There is a yearly programme that is organised, commencing with the last Bank Holiday in May. These activities take place in a local park, giving everyone an opportunity to participate in a physical and fun recreation, surrounded by lots of fresh air.

Last August Bank Holiday, two coaches left London and went to Drayton Manor Park, near Birmingham. It was good for families, the seniors and of course the children. Everyone had a good time.

The Committee also promotes learning and nurturing. Each October a compacted programme of activities are put together to celebrate "Black History Month". This event consists of various workshops (arts and craft, learning new skills and be educated about Black History) and a finale production made up of many parts, such as comedy, singing and poetry.

The end of year is always a busy time; the group participates in arranging a few Christmas spectacular events such as Christmas Jamboree, Carol Service and not forgetting the Sunday School Party.
